Sclerotherapy is a medical procedure used to treat varicose veins and spider veins. It is a minimally invasive treatment that involves injecting a solution, known as a sclerosant, into the affected veins. The sclerosant irritates the vein walls, causing them to stick together and eventually collapse. Over time, the collapsed veins are absorbed by the body and fade away.
