What is ThreadLift?
The absorbable PDO ThreadLift is one of the most popular non-surgical aesthetic techniques for skin rejuvenation. This skin lifting treatment can be applied to the face as well as the entire body. It immediately lifts sagging skin with virtually no downtime and minimal discomfort. The threads will stimulate your own body to form collagen and elastin, which will tighten and lift your skin.
The procedure can be performed quickly during your lunch break. It has non-minimal complications. Threads can be dissolve with radio frequency, if ever needed.
What does “PDO” mean?
PDO stands for Polydioxanone, which has been used in cardiothoracic surgery for decades! It is fully absorbed by hydrolysis within 4 to 6 months and does not create any scar tissue. The foreign body stimulates collagen synthesis and the skin structure created will hold for another 12 to 15 months.
What can I expect from ThreadLift?
You can expect restoration of the V-Shape of your face. Although PDO Threads can be inserted almost anywhere, one area where they are especially effective is the neck and jawline. The lower third of the face is challenging to effectively treat with botulinum toxin or injectable fillers, which are most effective in the upper and middle third of the face, respectively.
A beautiful and healthy face has a “V-shape.” With the aging of tissues and the action of gravity, this “V-shape” diminishes or inverts. Luckily, the two different types of PDO Thread Techniques, respectively using SMOOTH and BARBED threads, can either create a scaffolding in order to support the tissues and keep them in the “V-shape.” Or, where necessary, the threads can delicately lift the tissues and reposition the skin to recreate the “V-shape” where it’s been lost.
